As a  pre-sales data scientist or machine learning engineer you excel working on a sales team that is solving real-world problems by applying cutting edge Gen AI/ML algorithms.  Are you passionate about working with customers to solve their business challenges? You excel at describing complex machine learning concepts in simple business terms. 

As a Federal Sales engineer at H2O.ai, you have demonstrated the ability to move quickly and show initiative when dealing with ambiguity. You bring a passion for innovation and translating complex technology into a high-ROI organization outcome.

This role is ideal for a results-driven sales engineer with a passion for driving impactful outcomes in the public sector. You are based in Canberra, Australia.

What You Will Do

• Pre-Sales & Solution Engineering: Engage with government clients to understand their AI/LLM and data science requirements, designing tailored solutions. 
• Technical Enablement: Demonstrate, prototype, and validate LLM-based AI/ML and data science solutions for public sector use cases. 
• Data Security & Compliance: Ensure AI solutions adhere to Australian government regulations, such as the Information Security Manual , ISM, and Protective Security Policy Framework -PSPF. 
• GovCloud & Sovereign AI: Advise on implementing LLMs within sovereign cloud environments like AWS GovCloud, AU or similar government-grade infrastructure. 
• Technical Consulting: Provide expertise on AI/ML pipelines, vector databases, fine-tuning strategies, and retrieval-augmented generation, RAG, techniques. 
• Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with government agencies, procurement teams, and internal product teams to align AI solutions with mission objectives. 

What We Are Looking For

• AI/ML & Data Science Knowledge: Hands-on experience with PyTorch, TensorFlow, Hugging Face, LangChain, RAG, and embeddings.
• Government Sector Experience: Prior experience working with or selling to Australian federal or state government agencies.
